Weekly News

Dear Parishioners: In a week's time, it will be information overload, so I'll keep today's message short and simple: I can't wait to see many of you again! Remember that in-person worship resumes September 13, in just over a week. See more on that below, but many more details will be coming your way in next Thursday's email. Be assured we're working hard to make coming together as safe as possible, including having outdoor services, limited capacity, contact tracing, good ventilation (indoors)--all of it. A blessed Labor Day weekend to you and yours, and I will see some of you online at 10 am this Sunday! - Mother Storm

Office Closed September 7 in Observation of Labor Day. Please note our office will be closed Monday, reopening at 9 am Tuesday.

Plans for Fall at St. James. You can click the link below for a detailed document about our fall plans, but if you don't, just keep in mind that service times (starting September 13) are now 8 am, 9 am, 11 am, and 5 pm. To view more as a Google Document, click here. To view a video summary of this information, click here.

Yoga in the Chapel every Monday in August at 10:30 am. Looking for some grounding? How about doing some yoga in a contemplative space? Nursery School mom Miho Limouzi will be leading small classes at 10 am each Monday starting in August. More info can be found here on her Instagram page, or you can email her here

PLEASE RSVP Coming in September: "Episcopal NY Reads 1 Book" Discussion Series on How to Be An Anti-Racist, by Ibram Kendi. This September the entire diocese will be reading and discussing Ibram Kendi's How to Be An Anti-Racist. We will be paired with another parish for the discussions, but we need to submit the names of those interested in joining in so that the diocese can make a good pairing for us. Please let Mother Storm, Deacon Susie, or the office know if you're interested ASAP. On October 22, Kendi himself will be speaking to those who participated via a Zoom conference. Dates will be finalized once we're matched with the other parish, but for now, pencil the following 3 Wednesdays in your calendar for discussion: 23 & 30, October 7, 7:30-8:30 pm. You can buy books here

Daily Morning Prayer & Wednesday Bible Study are back in session. Links to these online events can be found on our home page at www.stjamesscarsdale.org.

Thank You   As ever, a big thank you to those who continue, in whatever form, to faithfully pay your pledge. Your commitment continues to amaze and inspire. Remember that all the links to online giving platforms are on our homepage. You can also send checks into the parish office if you prefer.

Prayer Requests may be sent to Mother Storm (at this email) or Deacon Susie.

Ask a Warden SHave a question about the church? Want to help but don't know what's needed? Ask a warden! They're here for you! You can contact Douglass Hatcher or Bill Haffner any time and they'd be happy to answer your questions.
