 e service of "O" Antiphons Advent Procession with Lessons &amp\; Carols is
  used by churches throughout the world. Similar to a traditional “Lesson
 s &amp\; Carols”\, this service is structured around the seven medieval 
 antiphons commonly known from the hymn “O come\, O come\, Emmanuel”. E
 ach antiphon beginning with “O” highlights images of Christ - star\, k
 ey\, root\, cornerstone. Dating to the reign of Charlemagne (771-814)\, th
 e seven “Great ‘O’ Antiphons” were originally sung as a part of th
 e daily evening prayers of the Western church in the Octave before Christm
 as—December 17 to 23—with one antiphon being appointed for each evenin
 g. Our service at St James the Less will be led by all of our choirs and i
