As many of you know, this weekend is the parish retreat in Connecticut. For those not able to go, this is just a reminder that there WILL be church this coming Sunday, both services, as usual. The Rev. Valerie Bailey Fisher, Chaplain to the College at Williams, will be filling in for me. The kids will also have Sunday school in their regular slot, the first half of the 10 am service, and the healing service (in the chapel) and coffee hour (in the parish hall) will follow.
Also on the topic of parish news, we have recently welcomed back our custodian, Pablo, who I'm happy to say is doing well after a brief sick leave. Our wardens, Tracy McCarthy and Pam Heldman, asked me to share the following memo with all of you.
"It is so wonderful to see our church buzzing with activity every evening. Between community use, parish committee meetings, choir practice and many other events, we are truly alive well in to the night. We are also pleased to announce that we have rearranged Pablo's schedule to be on duty later in the day so that he can assist with greeting people, answering questions, and locking up. This extra security helps the church. We are pleased that Pablo is feeling better and very willing and able to take on this modification to his position. Pablo does leave at 9:00 pm, so if your activity should extend beyond that time, please be sure all lights are turned off and doors locked. Pablo is happy to instruct you on how to do this."
Look forward to seeing you all again on October 14! - Mother Storm
