Note from the Office
Hi, friends! Happy Labor Day Weekend!
The Parish Choir has been enjoying their summer break, but will return for Banner Sunday on September 9 (rehearsals begin September 6). Meanwhile, soprano Rebecca Farley will sing this Sunday for the 10:00 AM service, including music of Bernstein and Rossini. She is wonderful - you won't want to miss it!
And don't forget to get your tickets for Oktoberfest :) We are planning a really fun evening of music and brats, football and fellowship!

Opportunities to Get Involved
Interested in a Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2020? Susie and Mother Storm have recently been in contact with the tour guide who led our last (and hugely successful) pilgrimage, and are gauging to see if there is enough interest to organize a trip for January 7-18, 2020. Contact Susie if you would like to know more. She has copies of the proposed itinerary she can share, as well. Think about it!
Parish Retreat October 5-7 Columbus Day Weekend CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION NOW! Over seventy parishioners have already signed up to attend our parish retreat this fall! Be part of the fun. Go to our homepage to secure your reservation and pay your deposit. The retreat will take place at the beautiful Incarnation Camp in Ivoryton, CT. All ages are included.
Join a Committee or Become a Lector, Greeter, or Usher St. James is always looking for more volunteers to serve on our various committees. We really rely on our parishioners to help keep our parish going. For more information, or to join, contact the office or just stop by one of our meetings! We are also looking for more people to be ushers, greeters, and lectors at our morning services. If any of these roles interests you, please contact the office.

On the Importance of Pledging: Did You Know? Did you know that every Episcopal Church relies on the annual pledges of its parishioners for everything it does, from paying the priest and staff to keeping our facilities clean? We are locally governed in this respect, with no assistance from the diocese or outside sources. If you would like to know more about pledging, we have forms you can complete online. You can also contact Mother Storm or Carol Burns our Finance Director at any time.
Ask a Warden Have a question about the church? Want to help but don't know what's needed? Ask a warden! They're here for you! You can contact Tracy McCarthy or Pam Heldman any time and they'd be happy to answer your questions.
