The EPISCOPAL CHURCH of ST. JAMES the LESS

Sundays at 8:00 AM

Sunday morning early service is a spoken (no music) service with traditional language (“Rite 1”). The service includes a sermon and Holy Communion and takes place in the church. This 35-minute service is a great way to begin the day.

Sundays at 10:00 AM

The 10 am service at St. James the Less is our principal service, with choir, organ, hymn singing, sermon and Holy Communion. Sunday School for kids through 5th grade takes place during the first half of the service, with the children joining us again for Communion.  During Communion, optional healing prayers are offered each week in the chapel for those who would like special prayers for themselves or a loved one.

There is also a “Children’s Area” in the church itself for the little ones to gather. This vibrant service from our Book of Common Prayer lasts about one hour, and is popular with all ages. Coffee hour takes place after the service.

Wednesday at 9:30 AM: Holy Communion

Each Wednesday we gather at 9:30 AM in the chapel for a 30-minute Holy Communion with a short homily focusing on the saint of the day.

The service is followed by Bible study at 10:00 AM.

First Sunday of the Month at 5:00 PM: Youth Service

The Junior and Senior High Youth Groups meet as separate groups every first Sunday evening of the month, but begin together with an informal service of Holy Communion at 5:00 PM in the church.  This service is open to anyone, and lasts about 20 minutes.
