We've got some exciting developments about our children's music ministry this fall! On Sunday, August 30th after the 10:30 Blessing of the Backpacks, Victoria will be sharing plans for children's music this season and the exciting things that have been happening in our music ministry recently.  Members of our choir who attended the Royal School of Church Music Choral Residency in Washington, D.C. this summer will also be on hand to share their experience singing with choristers of all ages from around the country. In the meantime, check out the Cherubs and Choristers section on our website for a preview and come to coffee hour to hear more about what's happening at SJTL this year!

Now is your last opportunity to donate to our backback drive for the children of incarcerated parents. The backpack drive is being organized through Mo. Michelle through her work with the Osborne Association. You can purchase items from the Amazon wishlist linked below and we will have a packing event on August 30 after the 10:30 a.m. service. 

The Fordham Pantry continues to operate throughout the summer, with long lines and a great need for volunteer help.

All are welcome to help us pack 300+ grocery bags for the food insecure in the neighborhood of our partner parish, St. James Episcopal Church in Fordham. To be added to the email distribution list for this ministry (where you'll receive reminders and occasional updates), click the button below and we'll add you to our list.

Join us for our very own Father Daniel's ordination to the priesthood! The service will be at the beautiful Cathedral of St. John the Divine. If you're interested in taking a bus down and back, along w/ other parishioners, click the form below and someone will get back to you with details. The cost for bus transportation directly from St. James to the cathedral is $60.00. Otherwise, it's easy to reach by train or car. 

Church School is adjourned until September; however, we will have clipboards (during the outdoor service) and plenty of Scripture-themed coloring sheets available every Sunday, and kids are welcome with parents to use the table in the Great Hall during the service as needed (things will also be set out there--arts, crafts, coloring sheets and Scripture-themed games). We want our families with us all summer long, so be assured you'll always find here a welcoming environment for little ones!

Are you a parent of kids 18 and under? You're probably already in our database, but it helps us if you can register your kids for the coming year so that we can update and/or double check the accuracy of our information.

September 20th is the first Sunday the Choir of St James gathers once again and leads our 10:30am service! This semi-professional group is open to high school students through adult. The music they sing is based largely in the Anglican choral tradition, as well as music from the African-American tradition. In addition to singing Sunday mornings, the choir also sings for special services such as Advent Lessons & Carols, Jazz Mass, Evensong, and combines with other choirs on concerts and services of Evensong.
