Annual Spring AppealJoin the 135+ other families who've pledged thus far! It's a joy and an honor to give to something you love. Every fall and spring we launch our Appeal to grow our membership and bring in more financial commitments, or "pledges." A pledge is a commitment made in advance and paid throughout the year. Pledges are vital to our parish. This is how Episcopal parishes support themselves, from the ground up. If you enjoy worship or any of the programs at St. James the Less, please show your support by making a financial pledge. Throughout the month of May we'll be running our "spring appeal" to capture our newer members. For more infomation visit:

Get Ready for Popham Day!Saturday June 7 + 10 am - 2 pm Popham Day, the closing event of our wonderful Anniversary celebrations will be held on Saturday, June 7th . We’ll be sharing all the event details with you in the next few weeks. For right now we need your help with a unique part of this celebration: Victorian Dress-Up!! Of course, everyone is welcome to join the celebration, with or without dress up! And for those of you who want to indulge in a bit of fun and easy Victorian dress-up read on! To make it simple, we’ve chosen a few small items that characterize the dress of this time. Ladies of all ages will be invited to wear a bonnet. We have pre-ordered bonnet bases and trimmings for the ladies and will have several “quick bonnet making” sessions after services later in May. Men and boys have a choice of wearing an Early Victorian style hat or suspenders (or both). All you need to do is to choose what you like and order it online. As a reminder, shipping time is variable, so we suggest you act quickly to insure timely delivery. Check out this link to see the hats men and boys wore during this time. Here is an Amazon link where you can purchase some of these hats. Here is the link for men's and boy's suspenders. Questions? Contact coordinator Francia Smith: francia.smith1@gmail.com. |

Make a Pilgrimage with St. JamesTwo Options: Fall 2025 to the South & Summer 2026 to Turkey We worship together, we pray together, and some of us even travel together! We have two upcoming pilgrimages with plenty of spots still available: one to Turkey in June/July 2026, and the other to Georgia and Alabama in October 2025. (Itinerary and prices are in the linked materials). Both are open to 6th graders on up, and the best pilgrimages are multi-generational. Scholarships available for kids grades 6-12 who attend the Civil Rights Pilgrimage in October. There are few things more satisfying than learning together, growing our faith, and relationships with each other. Consider joining us! For questions about the Turkey trip, you can contact parishioner Ray Chow at rtchow2055@gmail.com. For questions about the Civil Rights trip, contact Mo. Storm at rector@stjamesscarsdale.org. |

175th Anniversary ResourcesHolly Ball Materials & Last Sunday's Final Lecture Last Sunday, May 4, Geoff Loftus took us through a tour of St. James in the 80s to the present. A video recording of the lecture is here, with the slideshow linked in the video description. Did you know all our lectures are on our YouTube channel? The slide shows are linked through the videos, or you can find them archived here. Of particular note, on April 6 we hosted some guests for our 175th Anniversary lecture featuring the Holly Ball and the brave stance of our former rector, the Rev. George Kempsell. At the request of those who attended and those who couldn't make it that day, we've assembled here some resources, including: Father Kempsell's Sermon, with an introduction by the Rev. Astrid Storm, John McNally's Powerpoint Presentation, The Sunday Lecture on Youtube |
