Annual Bronx-Wide Celebration of Martin Luther King JrMonday January 19 + 10:00 AM Dr. King famously noted that Sunday is the most segregated hour in American life. And then there's the Diocese of New York. We have an extremely diverse and vibrant community in this diocese, which we celebrate each year at the Martin Luther King Jr service. Join fellow parishioners at St. James the Less for this inspiring service that showcases the best of the Episcopal Church, and also reminds us there's much work yet to be done. Great for kids and families! Mo. Storm and her family will be there. Join us!! |

Last Sunday's SermonBright Faith: A Sermon for the Baptism of Jesus Last Sunday, the last Sunday of the Christmas season, Mo. Storm preached on the Buddhist notion of "bright faith" and how we encounter such moments also in our own tradition. Focusing especially on the words spoken by God at Jesus' baptism, "You are my Son, the beloved, with you I am well pleased," she explains the importance of understanding that these words are meant for us, too. From the sermon: Bright faith moments happen when we know these words deep down to be true. Everything we’ve wanted from life, from faith, is right here in them: you are loved. You are complete. You have nothing to prove. Now, go and live. Really live. Live like you would in this knowledge.
