We are delighted to welcome David Hurd to St. James the Less for the final concert of this year's series. Dr. Hurd is recognized as one of the foremost concert organists and sacred music composers in the United States, as well as for his innovative, enthralling, and ever-evolving improvistional abilities.
The program Dr. Hurd will be presenting will feature Bach, Buxtehude, Frescobaldi, HIndemith, and concludes with his "Introduction, Passacaglia, & Fugue on "Windham".
"He shapes music with the structural insight of a composer and executes it with the boldness of an improviser . . . Hurd played with incisive rhythmic drive and imagination." (The Boston Globe)
The organ at St. James the Less was built by the Klais Organ Company (Bonn, Germany) in 2017, and will be a perfect instrument to highlight Dr. Hurd's musicality and artistry.
A suggested donation of $30 is greatly appreciated.
