Last Sunday's Sermon

Breaking Walls, Building Bridges: Celebrating Our Anglican Diversity

For our celebration of the Anglican Communion last Sunday, Mo. Eliza spoke about its strengths and weaknesses, and how our participation in it as Episcopalians can inspire us to even greater things--above all, love. If you didn't see the pictures from the service itself, you can view those on our FB page.

From the Sermon: Truth must be told, the body of Christ, the Anglican Church, including the Episcopal Church, has a history of slavery and some ugly stuff. Still, instead of building walls, it builds bridges to correct past mistakes and tear down the status quo. Racial Justice and Reconciliation are huge for the Anglican Communion in healing and reformation of the whole. Jesus’ command at the Last Supper is to love one another and be one as the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are one. The Anglican Communion does not take that command lightly. May we continue learn to love one another, walk in the light, continue to serve God in every human being, and, when we say, ‘EPISCOPAL CHURCH WELCOMES YOU,’ let’s say it with sincerity like we mean it. AMEN!

Annual Spring Appeal

Join the 135+ other families who've pledged thus far!

It's a joy and an honor to give to something you love. Every fall and spring we launch our Appeal to grow our membership and bring in more financial commitments, or "pledges."  A pledge is a commitment made in advance and paid throughout the year. Pledges are vital to our parish. This is how Episcopal parishes support themselves, from the ground up. If you enjoy worship or any of the programs at St. James the Less, please show your support by making a financial pledge. Throughout the month of May we'll be running our "spring appeal." We hope you'll join our growing family!

Make a Pilgrimage with St. James

Make a Pilgrimage with St. James

Two Options: Fall 2025 to the South & Summer 2026 to Turkey

We worship together, we pray together, and some of us even travel together! We have two upcoming pilgrimages with plenty of spots still available: one to Turkey in June/July 2026, and the other to Georgia and Alabama in October 2025. (Itinerary and prices are in the linked materials). Both are open to 6th graders on up, and the best pilgrimages are multi-generational. Scholarships available for kids grades 6-12 who attend the Civil Rights Pilgrimage in October.

There are few things more satisfying than learning together, growing our faith, and relationships with each other. Consider joining us! For questions about both trips, send a brief note to Mo. Storm at rector@stjamesscarsdale.org.
