Come gather together for a celebration of warmer days ahead! This is a great time to get to know each other better and enjoy one another in a setting outside of church. Optional Healing Prayer

Sunday June 1 + 9:00 & 10:30 AM Services

Parishioners have the option on the first Sunday of each month (both services) to receive healing prayers for themselves or a loved one after receiving Holy Communion. Prayers are said by certified lay chaplains in a quiet space (our chapel) and kept always confidential. Lay chaplains are also available to take Communion to you or to a loved one if you're unable to make it to church. We're happy to visit anyone at all, even just to lend a listening ear or say a quiet prayer together. Our chaplains are here to support our parishioners in hard times, so please call on us! Send a confidential email to: laychaplains@stjamesscarsdale.org.

Your Popham Day Dress Guide

Your Popham Day Dress Guide

Bonnets, Suspenders, Victorian Hats: We're here to help you dress!

Popham Day, the closing event of our wonderful Anniversary celebrations will be held on Saturday, June 7 th from 10:30AM-2PM, beginning with Headstone Dedications from 10:30-11AM and FAMILY FUN from 11AM-2PM. This final celebration will incorporate some Victorian touches with a nod to our historical roots! If you would like to enhance this Victorian theme, we have chosen a few small items that characterize the dress of this time. Of course, everyone is welcome to join the celebration, with or without dress up!

In the event you want to indulge in a bit of fun, read on! Ladies of all ages will be invited to wear a bonnet. We have pre-ordered bonnet bases and trimmings for the ladies (of all ages) and will have these available on Popham Day. Men and boys have a choice of wearing a Victorian style hat or suspenders (or both). All you need to do is to choose what you like, hunt through your closet or order it online. As a reminder, shipping time is variable, so we suggest you act quickly to insure timely delivery.

Check out this link to see the hats men and boys wore during this time.

Here is an Amazon Link where you can purchase some of these hats.

Here are links (here and here) for men’s and boys’ suspenders.

Annual Spring Appeal

Join the 135+ other families who've pledged thus far!

It's a joy and an honor to give to something you love. Every fall and spring we launch our Appeal to grow our membership and bring in more financial commitments, or "pledges."  A pledge is a commitment made in advance and paid throughout the year. Pledges are vital to our parish. This is how Episcopal parishes support themselves, from the ground up. If you enjoy worship or any of the programs at St. James the Less, please show your support by making a financial pledge. Throughout the month of May we'll be running our "spring appeal." We hope you'll join our growing family!

Make a Pilgrimage with St. James

Make a Pilgrimage with St. James

Two Options: Fall 2025 to the South & Summer 2026 to Turkey

We worship together, we pray together, and some of us even travel together! We have two upcoming pilgrimages with plenty of spots still available: one to Turkey in June/July 2026, and the other to Georgia and Alabama in October 2025. (Itinerary and prices are in the linked materials). Both are open to 6th graders on up, and the best pilgrimages are multi-generational. Scholarships available for kids grades 6-12 who attend the Civil Rights Pilgrimage in October.

There are few things more satisfying than learning together, growing our faith, and relationships with each other. Consider joining us! For questions about both trips, send a brief note to Mo. Storm at rector@stjamesscarsdale.org.
