St. James is proud to be part of the Episcopal Church, and to share in its inclusivity towards the LGBTQ+ community. During Pride Month we'll be sure to display our Episcopal Shield to show our support!

Join us at the 10:30 service this Sunday as we recognize this year's Audrey Davies Award recipient. This award is given to a woman of the parish for outstanding service. We'll continue the festivities after the service at the coffee hour. Hope you can make it!

Parishioners have the option on the first Sunday of each month (at both services) to receive healing prayers for themselves or a loved one after receiving Holy Communion. Prayers are said by certified lay chaplains in a quiet space (our chapel) and kept always confidential.

Join us for Morning Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, led by a lay person at St. James. You can watch anonymously, or make yourself known in the chat sidebar. All welcome, or watch afterwards if you like.

Church goes all summer long, remember, but for those who are heading places (and even for those staying put), we'll be having our annual early summer parish gathering at the home of Ocean and Tom Finlan. This event is open to all, newcomers, old timers, friends and neighbors. 99 Edgemont Rd, Scarsdale. Street parking available.

We are holding a small online auction to benefit our Outreach Fund. Help replenish our funds to support our work with St. James Fordham Food Pantry, Midnight Run, Rural and Migrant Ministry, Hearts and Homes for Refugees, and the Haiti Congregation of the Good Shepard school. In last Tuesday's Campaign email, we've shifted the focus away from fundraising (though we ARE still receiving and asking for pledges!) to our upcoming projects, with a name change that reflects this new direction. Read more at the link below, as well as notes from the Task Force's first meeting (in case you missed that last week). 

All are welcome to join us as we make a trip into the city to feed the homeless. This is program in coordination with the Westchester-based "Midnight Run" organization. Youth and children are welcome and encouraged to participate with their families.

The St. James Bible Enthusiasts, a spin-off of our 2022/23 Bible Marathon Group, is open to everyone who wants to learn and get to know other parishioners. Our next gathering is July 10 at 7 pm at the home of group member Bill Haffner. We'll continue our discussion of "Why the Bible Began," but please feel free to attend even if you don't manage to read or finish the book.

This Sunday, parishioner Francia Morhardt Smith, member of our choir and 175th Anniversary Committee, will continue to ask parishioners after church and at coffee hour for a few words to describe our church. The words above are some that were shared with her last week. Add your own! We're putting together a few words to go with our 175th logo, and are looking for ideas from parishioners. We'd love to hear from you! 

We're trying to make it easier to get involved and help out. We are so thankful for each and every pledge made to St. James. Ongoing financial contributions from parishioners are how Episcopal churches operate. If you take advantage of anything in the church--worship services, classes for kids and adults, outreach programs, fellowship, anything at all--please make a pledge to help us sustain these programs.
